Happy 14th Birthday Can’t Get You Out Of My Head

Kylie’s iconic dance/pop track turns 14 today!!
From it’s first preview during Kylie’s On A Night Like This Tour, Lovers [the name Kylie’s given her fans] fell in love with this song.
A huge departure from the disco heavy Light Years, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head introduced the world to the start of Electro/Dance Kylie – an incarnation of Kylie we hadn’t seen before and wouldn’t get rid of any time soon.

The La la la hook, Written and produced by Cathy Dennis and Rob Davis, gave Kylie the futuristic and electro sound she was looking for for her new album, Fever.

The music video for the song is one of her most iconic. Choreographed by Michael Rooney [who later choreographed the pool side glam, towel choreographed, Slow from Body Language], clad in a white hooded jumpsuit with a cut down to there neck line a cut up to there side slits in the pants designed by London-based fashion designer Fee Doran, under the label of Mrs Jones.

Besides Anti-Tour, CGYOOMH has been performed in every tour Kylie has done since 2001, and was featured on The Abbey Road Sessions album as part of her K25 celebrations in 2012.

Besides the iconic music video, fans and pop culture lovers all remember the amazing performance of the Can’t Get You Out Of MY Head mash-up with New Order’s Blue Monday at the 2002 Brit Awards.

This performance was a glimpse in to partnership Kylie has with Dolce and Gabbana, who later costumed Kylie for her Fever Tour in 2002.

Happy birthday, Can’t Get You Out OF My Head – May you stay as iconic as you have been for the next 14 years [plus many many more]. As a present to y’all, here’s the iconic Brits performance to watch.
Enjoy xo
